Excellent article. Have always been a fan of cal newport, but I was wondering how his lessons apply to development. Now its much clearer.

Very insightful. Really makes me think about what real productivity is like in the day-to-day work.

This is the reality and truth, the 3-4 hours of programming is enough. Now you can say use AI to generate code. But to clean AI generated code take too much time.

The think is that AI generated code is too much bloated, spam and with tons of bogus and useless data.

But companies and managers force to programmers to work for long hours and the result rise of bad software and application produced.

So the only companies and managers are 100% responsible for bad software and application.
